Reviews and Ratings
The Essex Resort offers a delightful stay with its comfortable rooms and exceptional dining, particularly at The Junction restaurant. The spa treatments were also a highlight, making it a perfect getaway. However, there were significant issues with billing and customer service during my latest visit, which put a damper on the experience.
The hotel offers beautiful grounds and well-maintained buildings, creating a charming atmosphere. While the room was generally comfortable, I had issues with noise early in the morning from the delivery area, and the HVAC unit was outdated. The staff's service varied significantly; I encountered both excellent and frustrating interactions. Overall, it's a nice place for a weekend getaway, but some improvements in staff training and room comfort are needed.
My stay was a mixed bag. The atmosphere was charming with beautiful grounds, and I loved the engaging cooking classes. However, I encountered issues with staff service, particularly at the front desk and restaurants. The dining experience was hit or miss with slow service and some menu confusion, which detracted from my overall experience.
I had a mixed experience at the hotel. On one hand, the spa treatments and restaurants were fantastic, contributing to a wonderful culinary experience. On the other hand, my initial room was uncomfortably cold, and the follow-up service after relocating was lacking. While the gardens were beautiful and the indoor facilities were nice, the dining could use some improvements, especially during breakfast.
My experience at the hotel was a mixed bag. The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful, but I did have a couple of bumps along the way, especially with room service and some misunderstandings at the front desk. The location felt peaceful yet was close enough to the nearby attractions. The dining options were amazing, particularly at The Junction, which was a highlight of my stay.
Our stay at the hotel was a mixed bag. On one hand, the rooms were nicely appointed and offered a cozy fireplace that added a warm touch. The facilities, particularly the spa and outdoor hot tub, were excellent, providing a relaxing atmosphere. However, we encountered issues with service and communication, which dampened our overall experience. Additionally, while the hotel is conveniently located near Burlington, it wasn't as close to hiking areas as we had hoped.
The Essex Resort has a mix of positives and some areas that could use improvement. The dining at The Junction was exceptional, and my family loved the unique interactions with the goats and chickens. However, the slow service in the Tavern was frustrating, and the outdoor pool can get crowded with local families, which detracted from our relaxation. Overall, it offers great culinary experiences, but some aspects left me wanting more.
I had a wonderful stay at the Essex, the atmosphere was genuinely inviting, and the amenities were impressive. The spacious and beautifully decorated rooms made it feel luxurious while still being comfortable. However, the service at the spa could use improvement, as I felt a bit overlooked. Overall, the blend of relaxation and culinary delights is a highlight, but be prepared for some minor service hiccups.
